I have X3 on Windows 8. I'm recording from the Roland UA-1G in digital mode.
As I record the midi and audio are synchronized but when the audio renders the audio is out if sync.
In a 6 minute song the audio is 12 seconds longer (behind) the midi.

Are you saying that if you record simultaneous MIDI and Audio that they will get progressively more out of sync on playback? Or is it only after you freeze/export? What is the MIDI driving (soft synth, hardware synth, soundcard's GS Wavetable?), and which one stays is in sync with the audio metronome on playback? It will help if you detail what's in the project, how it was recorded/imported and what instruments you're using.
 
One thing to check in the mean time is that the Playback and Record Timing Master settings in Preferences > Audio > Driver Settings are both referencing the Roland interface.

^^ the only "drifting" that I recall is the metronome not being enabled (can be muted), but your situation seems more severe in that the clocks seem not to be the same one. Definitely check what Dave posted.

Thanks so much. I am looping midi out and recording a audio track in my project. I'm using Roland xv 5080 sound module and the Roland UA-1g digital to USB converter. After the recording is finished the audio track is not aligned with the midi tracks. The audio track is longer.
I set the clock to "Audio" instead of  "internal clock"l and I set the recording master to the UA-1g and the playback master to the UA-1g and that fixed it. Now the audio track and midi tracks are perfectly aligned.

Ah, yes that's key, too. It should have defaulted to Audio. "Internal" is the low-res PC system clock, and can only be used for for pure MIDI projects driving direct-monitored hardware synths.
