  • Plt slow to load projects - why?

I'm finding Plt really and consistantly slow to load a project. I can open the same project in X3 and it's a lot quicker in getting the project up-and-running.

Anyone know why Plt might be slow in opening the same project - or any other project, or even just a basic template?

I don't find that, Platinum loads slightly faster than x3 for me.   I'm up to about 250 instruments loaded into Kontakt 5 VSTs , several GB worth of memory,  about 50 instruments in G player VSTs, about 60 total tracks, though only 4 audio tracks, 3 minute piece -- all loads in 37 seconds, Platinum, or 45 seconds, x3,  which seems quite satisfactory.

Do you run any antivirus software on that workstation, Fabio?

I too have the same issue of slow-loading projects in Platinum that load much much more quickly in X3e and all of my relevant folders are excluded in my AV program which shouldn't matter when comparing Platinum to X3e, apples to apples.

I too am having longer load times than in X3 if that helps anyone.. Personally since the update my processors are all uneven . I done core parking, Ect. called CW and had a helpful soul help me out and still have unbalanced cores..
The only thing that was done to this computer was Platinum upgrade. and I Upgraded to NI Ultimate 10 with the Komplete Kontrol s49 keyboard.  So that could be the culprit too.  Im thinking it could be a driver Issue with the s49..

Hey...well I've just go rid of IObit's as it was giving me BSOD every time I used the CC. I just have Microsoft Essentials now. Do you think this is slowing loads in Plt esp, down?

Well at least others are experiencing this and it's not just my machine/setup for a change.

Hey, I've had the same issue. My projects load much faster in X3e. I also had issues where Plt would lose sync and the audio engine would stop. Never had that issue in X3e. I also get pops and clicks at low buffer settins in Plt but not in X3e. I have a Presonus 1818vsl using asio drivers all up to date. Again no issues in X3e only Plt. Hopefully the next update will solve the problem....that would be way better than new content!

agreed...not getting the pops/clicks here but yes, hopefully they can improve upon the load times as it appears a few other users are experiencing similar.

Interestingly, when I had X1/2 installed, X3 used to load a lot slower. I uninstalled 1 and 2 and after doing this, X3 started to load a lot faster...coincidence?
