The folders of my Midi Library directory in Cakewalk Content directory are empty of any midi file or patterns. Is it normal?
I fear to have deleted them by mistake. Is there a way to restore the content?

Thanks in advance for an advice.

Which version of SONAR do you have installed? Are you using the command center?

Are you using a Windows Explorer search window that you've navigated to in some odd way? Check the "File Type" filter in the search window to make sure it is set to "All" or at least ".mid" or whatever you are looking for.

That used to screw me up back in the day. I'd be looking around at various folders and places that SHOULD have had stuff in them would show up empty. It was usually because the program I was searching with was filtering those file types or the Windows Explorer filter type was blockign the results.

I think I've even had the Sonar Browser do this too if I did have the correct buttons/paths selected.

I use Sonar Platinium; the folders are also empty in the Sonar Explorer... :(

In the Sonar browser...

Click the Media tab (top right corner of the Browser)

What comes up?

Also below that tab (the Olugins and Synth tabs) you will see a dropdown menu. Click that menu and you will see a bunch of options. Select "MIDI Groove Clips".

What do you see now?

Of course from that same dropdown you can choose the other sort options. You can also click the folder up arrow button at the very far left (beside the dropdown menu) to get up to the very top folders on your computer (up to the hard drives) and then dig down from there.

There is a Tutorial section in the Sonar Reference Guide at the start that gives you a step by step way to navigate the browser (with examples) as well as other helpful stuff for beginners.

You may not be a beginner though so my apologies if that is the case. Just making sure before we look at other problems.

Also did you actually install the Extra Content when you installed Sonar? This usually comes as a separate install tot he main program so maybe you just didn't install it. In that case just look in your store account in the Command Center and look for Extra Content or whatver they called it. Then download and install it. There are extra packages than that too like the Brian Hardgroove stuff.

Salud.

I am not a beginner Beepster. Using Cakewalk for 15  years. I know how to navigate.
It is only the Midi Library folders that are empty. The other ones are OK

FWIW, no, the MIDI content folders should be populated.   If all else fails, you could try re-running the extra content installer - if it's still in your local downloads folder it will just have to run vs. download and run.

I use the command center and all the files are in my drive. The Sonar Setup does not allow  to select this kind of content only. Or it is a different file, but I cannot identify which one.

If you browse to C:\ProgramData\Cakewalk\Command Center\Downloads, you can choose to run installers from there. I am not quite sure which one it is. I think it is one of the loopmaster / mixloop content installers. Others may know better. Best of luck.
