Anyone else seeing this?

I have a track with 4 Lanes... If I solo one Lanes, all is as should be. But when I disable the solo, the clips are still muted?

Weird!

As soon as they announced that drum maps solo/mute issue got fixed in Dorchester,I said I hope that it would not break takelanes signal flow, I also said I was probably paranoid.

I haven't checked it yet, but I'm more paranoid now.

Keni,
Performed the steps below and could not reproduce the behavior.  Let me know if your steps are different.

  1. Created new project
  2. Inserted Audio track
  3. Set Loop for 2 bars
  4. Recorded 4 takes using Comping mode.  When the recording was complete Take 4 was the active take and Sonar played back the Take 4 audio.
  5. Clicked the Solo button on the Take 2 take lane.  The Takes 1, 3, and 4 automatically Muted and Sonar played back the Take 2 audio.
  6. Clicked the Solo button again to disable Solo on the Take 2 lane.  All Solo and Mute buttons cleared and Sonar played back the Take 4 audio.

Yes, this very well explains the mute/solo behavior in Take lanes. Working fine here, too.

Any drums maps being used?

Hi Guys...

No... I'm not using any drum maps... Not using comp mode... Sound on sound...

What's really strange is that it un-muted the lanes, but muted the last clips in the lanes that were muted?

I'm thinking that maybe something in my actions caused Sonar to mute the clips... Such as maybe I "selected" (promoted) the last clip and didn't see it change status forcing the other clips to become muted... Then while not seeing that I used solo and when un-soloed, left the clips still muted...? Sounds plausible. I'll try that tomorrow and see if it fits...

Though the use of selecting a clip for comping is a cool quick tool, it wouldn't be the first time it got in my way! ;-)

We don't all use Lanes just for comping! I often use them for doing quick doubled harmony when working out vocal parts... So I might have 2-4 lanes playing simultaneously...

Thanks for checking this for me...

I found takelanes buggy enough/not baked enough for me to stop using them. I look forward to bug fixes and enhancements.

I just use track templates which I have now found are bugged under certain conditions (but that's another thread).

Strongly agree, but I'm still using it, scrolling the mouse wheel like hell and fighting with clips landing on wrong lanes, etc.

Yeah...

Me too... I've been very unhappy since the introduction of Lanes as a replacement for Layers... Yes, they opened new opportunities such as the comping mode, but at too great a cost. I spend far too much time making up for other issues they have brought... I don't remember zoom issues ever being a problem before Lanes and can only hope that the Bakers somehow pull us out of these issues soon. It's now near 2 years (?) of these frustrations...

But enough of my whining about them as we're stuck with them for the foreseeable future... At least we can hope for some fixes soon?
