Yeah I know, just a little joke. I know Nashville is right up there with those cities for music.
Hmm, that's weird. I never would've thought that would be the case especially with all the people in the NY and LA metropolitan areas. Have you ever figured out why people don't turn out to these types of events in NY or LA?
I didn't see where this was answered, but there are a couple of "human factors".
Psychology is marketing 101 and that's a good question because understanding marketing helps keep us from getting sucked in by it lol.
The more people, the more activities there is available.
Even on a Tues or Thurs, there is likely to be a pretty big something scheduled.
A big concert, the grand yada yada museum opening ... 100 things to do, both large and small.
Whereas in smaller communities the scale changes, there's fewer, and smaller options, and you mow on Tuesdays.
But they'll plan further in advance, tailgate, maybe even truck a van of bros in across two states and 500 miles, with as much enthusiasm as their first time touching Rhonda's boob.
They're more excited, show up happy, and spend more of the "ancient triad" of marketing .... the most valuable resources in all the kingdoms .... money, time, and energy.
Staying home is more the norm, and even the small events have greater importance.
In the city, not only do you choose the most important events to manage that time, but the scale changes and the small things you consider are bigger.
And, getting them to drive 50 miles into the city traffic means it has to be huge.
Less excited, outright pissed, or at least "not-happy", and then they spend less money, mope around, and leave early.
So a free software specific meet and greet is generally smaller potatoes, no matter how big the software is, but when the other option is mowing, count me in ....... lol
