  • Who's Going to Contribute to the Tip Jar? (p.10)

Shortened this for clarity...

I'll consider contributing when all of my Cakewalk purchases are listed in my BandLab account for download and installing- as I was told by moderators- which was followed by Meng stating it was like moving from one house to another- he didn't know what would be moved nor when.

If I contribute it will be for moving my purchases at the Gibson house to the BandLab house -keeping my Cakewalk goods useful to me. Not for mugs or t-shirts.

Maybe BandLab could sell CbB and wouldn't be asking for "tips"? Just a thought.

I was happy to give a tip (and can't wait for the T-shirt and mug... they look fantastic).  I was overjoyed when I heard the plan for Cakewalk, like a Phoenix, rising from the grave :)  And so far my experience with the new Cakewalk has been fantastic.  Install was easy, it's recognized all of my plug-ins (and all of my old extras from SPLAT and other Cakewalk purchased goodies over the years like Zeta 2+ and Rapture Pro, etc).  The work flow is the same, it's stable and fast... all the things I loved about SPLAT (and X3 before).  And now I don't have to worry (at least in the near term) of Windows updates breaking my recording ecosystem.

Huge thanks to Meng, and the Bakers... and to this community for all the great tips I've picked up from you all over the years.  Back to making music.

(p.s. I haven't heard back from the BandLab team yet, since my tip... about the t-shirt and mugs... I'm hoping they're just overwhelmed processing the orders, or maybe gleaned what they needed from the notes section of the tip.)

Are these real mugs that you have in stock, ready to ship?

The reason I ask is that the white one has a logo that looks about 15 years old, and the black one seems to have been rendered in Illustrator or similar, quite quickly.

Yeah, it's obviously a big scam isn't it Jamnes

I donated $199 which is the only music software I've bought for a couple of years

I too 'tipped' for a shirt an mug. However when my PayPal transaction completed there was no next step to select the items, or provide a mailing address, so I assume I will not b receiving the item :(. Alas ...

I'm going to be tipping so hopefully supplies don't run out (I'm a mug nut) but I'd like to know more about what the actual monetization platform will consist of and when it will start before I do because what tier I choose will have a lot to do with that.

Maybe Meng's posts in this thread will help with understanding BandLab's business

The question I have isn't whether or not there will be a revenue stream; it's obvious there will be several. My question is more about gaining detailed information on what exactly is in the works and how quickly we can expect to see them. The answers are to this point pretty vague as to what we can expect to see and while more detailed information will be forthcoming, it's kind of placing a wall as to how much I am willing to "tip" because there are no details on any sort of product development for Cakewalk and no expected timeline.

Yeah, I will be contributing to the Tip Jar, at the end of this month. (As mentioned here).

I think they have to resolve the demo mode problem first. Then I'll cheerfully contribute to the tip jar.
