I general, more info about everything we are installing, down loading would be favourable. It's fine if you have a good internet speed, but not all of us do. With so many quirks going on, it would also be nice to be able to check things. It's called 'communication' and the year is 2015.

For me, it's not about downloading. I just don't want to install what's not necessary.

It's that for me too, You have Japanese speed downloads and I have Filipino with the frequent slumps blamed on Chinese espionage.

I was a bit stumped too that it took so long.
Just as if tuts were still in there or something?

Did somebody check if any different in size from tut option?

The full installer is bigger then the resulting installation because it contains reference guides in multiple languages. It's really just extracting the language you're in. If you went through and installed in each language it would all add up.

But CCC could check proper language too, or?
I know it's work in progress, just an idea.

It does put load on your servers too...

The installers are not only available in Cakewalk Command Center.

While possible, it would require a pretty big redesign of our delivery system as well as how the installers themselves are built. Lots of extra work for lots of people. More likely then not we may reconsider how the help itself is distributed longer term. Step 1 was to break it out from the Tutorials to reduce the overall footprint though, that way if you're updating just help you're not also downloading the tutorial content each time.

Thanks Ryan.  Sounds like a big step in the right direction has already been made.
