I bought Sonar Platinum a few months back during introductory pricing. I have been postponing installation due to time issues, and in the hope that Command Center would be upgraded to handle custom installations. Now that I have some time for the installation, I have some questions about the status of the installation process:

1) Has Command Center been upgraded to accommodate installation as follows?

a) Can I put the applications where I want them (e.g. dedicated folder on C drive?

b) Can I put the program and patches associated with the applications where I want them (e.g. dedicated folders on D drive)?

c) Can I put the VST's where I want them (32-bit VST's on one folder on C drive, and 64-bit VST's oin another folder)?

d) Can I put the audio samples where I want them (e.g. dedicated folders on E drive)?

e) Can I put the loop data where I want it (e.g. dedicated folders on D and E drives)?

2) Or, do I need to perform individual advanced manual installation operations of each product included in Platinum?

3) Does the published offline installation and activation procedure work as described?

thanks

Keith

I can at least answer these questions: c) Can I put the VST's where I want them (32-bit VST's on one folder on C drive, and 64-bit VST's on another folder)? d) Can I put the audio samples where I want them (e.g. dedicated folders on E drive)? e) Can I put the loop data where I want it (e.g. dedicated folders on D and E drives)?

Yes. I have done that, without any problems. After installing and opening CCC, go to options (up in the right corner of CCC). Locate where you want your plugins installed. You will be asked where you want to put Cakewalk Content during installation, just choose where you want it.

I used the offline process (and needed offline reg process) and it worked fine. I installed to default locations though so I can't comment on directory stuff but others seem to be doing okay with it (but some seem to have had some... concerns). You can always move/link to stuff manually later anyway but yeah... that would be a PITA.

Honestly I've been planning a mass migration/shuffling of my directories for a loooong time now and I think I may actually get support on the phone just to make sure I don't bork it up. You could just email them though and see if they'll give you a step by step for exactly what you want to do.

Cheers.
