  • Sampletank3, update 3.5.1 Could someone check a possible major bug for me?

Using the VST3 for Sampletank3 before applying the recent 3.5.1 update from IK, if I clicked on a patch in a track in the 'Instrument' column on the right of the Play window then a cursor would jump to that instrument in the left hand patches column, showing me which group/subgroup I had selected it from. This is essential to workflow as I often want to audition/choose a slightly different instrument from the subgroup I'd chosen before.

After applying 3.5.1, when I click on a patch/track in the right hand Instrument column nothing happens. I now have no idea where a patch came from apart form using search in the right hand patch list or scrolling around for it.  This is a major issue.

However, if I use the VST2 version everything is ok.

I was wondering if another user of Sampletank3 in Sonar could check this for me?  Many thanks.

Sorry to say it works for me in both versions (VST3 & VST2).

I was actually not up to 3.5.1, so I tried it in 3.5.0 before I updated. Worked there too in both versions (VST2 & VST3).

Thanks bapu.
Could you try something else for me?  Load an Instrument into a track on the right, not by scrolling the patches, but by searching for it in the Search facility, then selecting it.  Click on a different track in the right pane. Then click on the track/patch that was loaded after searching. Does the left hand Instruments pane (Instruments tab) still jump to it?  I tried a clean Sonar project and empty SampleTank3  load (VST2) and loaded six patches, two by using Search.  The other four worked fine but the two searched for wouldn't show their origin.  Deleting them and then loading them again, but by selection from the left pane patch list, all was ok.

Annoyingly elusive....!

Yup, after a search the "jump to original location" no longer works in both versions.

FYI, I'm assuming when I run standalone that is the VST2 version.

Ok, I'll report it to IK. Many thanks.

One last imposition if I may!
When you test, load some patches to tracks.  Then save and close the project and reopen it.
Is all still ok?  I can start a fresh test and all seems ok but when I close the project and reopen it, none of the tracks/patches can bring up their location in the left Instruments pan.
Many thanks bapu!

Just to add, I can reproduce all the same bugs when I load ST3 into Presonus Studio One 2.6.5 (the latest version), so it's not a Sonar issue.  I've sent a full report to IK.
