I think one thing that gets lost in all the noise is that anything has potential for improvement...including people. Software is no different. Cars are no different. Relationships are no different.
What separates the wheat from the chaff is whether there is a
commitment to improvement or not, and a
follow-through on that commitment. I do not believe SONAR is at all unique in that respect. I do not know one software company that is unaware of the shortcomings in their products, and does not have a desire to overcome those shortcomings.
So we're back to the glass half-full/glass half-empty. You can say something sucks because it needs improvement, or you can say something's great because it's being improved.
As George Carlin said, "Some people see the glass half full. Others see it half empty. I see a glass that's twice as big as it needs to be."
