You may remember that I had to update EZDrummer 2 with the "Sonar Option" to get it to work.  OK, but now here is what is happening:

1.  In the virtual drum mixer, I out the kick on track 1, snare on 2, hi-hat on 3, toms on 4 (stereo), and cymbals on 5 (stereo).
2.  I've always done this with EZ Drummer and with Session Drummer.
3. Now, however, using EZ Drummer 2, the kick always shows up on the snare track in addition to the kick track.  In other words, when I hit the kick drum, both the kick and snare tracks meter it.  All other drums are fine.
4.  If I change the kick drum to another track (like 5), it still comes through on the snare track IN ADDITION to the track to which it is assigned.
5. All ambiance, room, reverb, and compression are turned down to zero and muted in the EZ Drummer mixer.

How is this happening?

There will be some bleed from the kick in the snare mic. That's as expected. I usually leave it alone but there was a way to turn it off in ezd1. Look for something along the same line if it is bleed in the snare mic.

Thanks, Dave, but here's the deal.  This is not a little bleed: this is as much meter on the snare track as on the kick track when the kick hits; and all the bleed and ambiance are turned off.  I never had this problem in EZD1 and have always turned off all the bleed controls.  (I don't like bleed, but if it were a small amount I could live with it.  I am getting as much kick on the snare track as on the kick track.)

When you load up ez drummer I think the default mix preset is Basic of the EZX . Change this to Original Mix
and you will be able to control the bleed from the snare bottom mic .
All the best

Sorry Konradh, I don't know how EZ Drummer works at all.

But, are you routing your individual kit pieces into Sonar?
If so, check that the INPUT channel for each piece in Sonar matches the OUTPUT channels assigned in EZD

This has caught me out several times in BFD

Now, that was interesting.  When I selected different mixes as Jan suggested, the kick drum came out only on the snare track instead of on the kick and snare tracks.  So, that isn't what we want, but it does make me think there is something strange about those mix choices.

Until I solve this, my workaround was to install a second instance of EZD2 with nothing but kick and mute the kick on the original instance.

The Toms are also coming out on the snare track.

I found a little time to check this out and I can see the EZdrummer mixer showing that the Kick and Toms both show activity on the Snare track but this is normal bleed as expected when micing up a real kit.  If you solo the Snare track in the EZdrummer mixer you will hear the bleed when you trigger the Kick and Toms.  The bleed is well below the source material and only enhances those instruments.  If you don't want any bleed then you should try the Original Mix preset which will give you a bit more control over mic bleed.   As you've already worked out, you can use several instances of EZdrummer2 if you want to further thumb your nose at physics.  I've done that a time or two, myself.

Does any one have a drum map for EZ Drummer2? There used to be one for EZD at the Toontrack site, but I can't find that anymore.
