I'm not sure if this is a bug or a setting but when I hit the record button with Sonar it starts to record the previous track as well?  So basically as soon as I hit the record button Sonar starts to duplicate the notes that I recorded for the previous track in the new track I'm trying to record.  This is very annoying and I'd like a solution if possible.

Audio or MIDI?

Midi and I'm using Sonar Platinum

Also I've noticed if I mute the track that it wants to record, Sonar won't record it.  That's the only way I can get it not to record the previous track.

Check plug-ins for "Enable MIDI Output" selected and/or change the track inputs from Omni. For plug-ins capable of generating MIDI, the option is enabled by default. Turn it off by right-clicking the plug-ins in the synth rack or the VST2/3 drop down in the plug-in header.

There's a bug with midi recording that's been around since 8.5. I use the feature "allow recording without arming track". So if I record a piano, then decide I want to record a spot on my drum track and record that drum part and then move back to piano, many times it will record the drums instead of piano.

The workaround I use to get Sonar out of this confusion is to hit solo on the drum track, then all of a sudden the record button will light up and I can then turn it off, then turn off the solo button. Then everything returns back to normal. I wish this would be fixed.

Yes, unclear what they mean by that at all:
a) is focused track recorded then
b) is selected track recorded then
c) is track with monitor on recorded

Either way, uncheck if checked...

Bugs don't get fixed by wishes - we don't have a fairy guardian on staff :) Have you logged this officially? If so what is the bug number?

I found the above - only took a quick look, because I am running out the door - I hope something in those helps.  Sorry if I got it wrong - got to go......
