Hey guys... I have a problem with Sonar 3 Crashing every time I go to record using midi with Dimension Pro .... I get the white screen of death about half way thru and the audio just hangs up and studders until I unplug my interface and then I have to restart the computer or when I re open sonar without restarting ... it says there is no audio device .... anyone have any ideas or what to try ... I reinstalled the interface and drivers to see it that was the cause ....no help ...

Just to clarify.  Is this Sonar 3 or Sonar X3.
Did this issue happened as soon as you acquired the interface
Can you give details about your system. OS, Ram.  32bit or 64bit
What driver mode are you using (WSAPI, ASIO, WDM/KS, MME....)    try MME first and work your way to ASIO.  Try increasing your buffers
When you reinstalled the interface and drivers, if you have not already, can you download the latest version of the drivers and install those.

Might be helpful to post what program DPro is using too.

I'm using windows 7 with 8 gig ram, I5 processor, 64 bit with Sonar x3e Producer.... the interface I have used for a while with ASIO at 512 and 1024 buffer. the DPro I'm using is what came with sonar x3. I've been using this setup from sonar X1 and have upgraded at their releases to Sonar X3... it just started doing this on the last project I started about 2 weeks ago ...it may be something in my OS cause I tried to restore to an earlier time and it won't restore successfully. other programs seem to work fine. computer is not acting weird or anything different. I hate to have to reinstall windows and everything else on my computer if I don't have to but .......As a songwriter and composer for myself along with some clients I need sonar to work ....

Try the same set up in a new project. If it works you may have a corrupted project and have to revert to an earlier version of the project (if you have one). Otherwise you may have to go through the hassle of trying to export/copy all the MIDI data (and audio if there is any) into a new project.

And as scook is likely eluding there are some DimPro patches that can act like arseholes in this manner. I've had similar things happen but only when browsing patches. There are some specific ones though that screw up due to an older element within the patch that does not play nice (I forget exactly what it is but it has been brought up before).

I tried the same file in Sonar x2 and started the new project In Sonar x3 with the same result ... thinking about reinstalling Dpro and see it that fixes it .. if not then reinstall sonar x3 and then windows 7 ... I would think that it's one of these guys that is the problem.... something is corrupt in one of these programs for it to just start acting like this .... and with it acting like this in sonar x2 also .... I'm thinking either Dpro or Windows ... and with not being able to restore .... uugg.... probably Windows which will be a whole weekend event restoring everything with updates, etc....{longing for those analog days }

Let scook know which program you are using in DimPro before you do all of that.

not sure which program your talking about ... I tried using a m-audio keystation 49es and a Akai mini 25 keyboard and controller for midi and using the Dpro that came with sonar x3...

The 'patch/preset' name you are using within Dimension Pro perhaps

When you open DimPro at the top of the screen you load a program. In the past some of them have had issues.
