So I heard back from Cakewalk support. They sent me a product key for AD2, but unfortunately, it didn't really do much. After registering the key, there was the same functionality in AD2 as the free demo (i.e. there are no drum sounds, just the main AD2 software and a demo of Fairfax AD Pak).
 
This morning I heard back for XLN Audio Support, who had to reset my licenses for AD2. Now I have the full upgrade, which includes a couple kits that were upgraded from AD1.
 
So I've got my upgrade now (yay!), but I wish this process had been more smooth.

Hi PharmD07 and welcome to Cakewalk and the user forum.  I see that you joined in 2007, but have just a few posts.  I have a similar path, but wanted to let you know that there are a number of very smart people here who help out all the time.  They have thousands of posts and will jump in if asked.
 
FYI, since you have a resolution to your problem, could you change your heading of the main posts and add  - solved  - or similar to tell everyone that the situation has been resolved. 
 
 
 
 
 
 

Unfortunately it is Saturday am and I can't call Cake or AD. Anyone know how I may get the extras this weekend for a session we were going to use them with? Don't get me wrong I think this is the best upgrade ever, (Sonar Platinum) but I surely do need the features now.
