Good luck Dave. The instructions with the .zip file were cryptic at best so I wanted to post how I got it to work. Once I did it was soooooo cool to be able to work in 64bit land.

Again - Thanks You! I have been working in Sonar32 bit just to be able to access a handful of plugs that I have presets for that are tried and true for the sound I want. I always feel a little short-changed knowing I have the 64 bit version sitting there unused more often than not.

I'll post back after I get this working.

Thanks Freddie,

I will use that tip for sure! Ive been having quite fun with the arp just holding down various chords while playing  along with a bass and string track. I use the arp on the 3rd track with Omnisphere, and Virus TI.

did you know the matrix view in Sonar can import Project5 patterns?

& the arpeggiator can too.

I guess the question is/will be - if you dont have the discontinued P5 how do you make PTN files?

There is no reason to do so. P5 is dead. That is the only program that supports them other then Sonar with this update. Think of PTN files a MIDI groove loops. They are functionally the same.

To build your own arpeggios,  the Sonar arpeggiator only allows you to load PTN files though - how do you convert a Midi groove loop to a PTN file in S8.5.1?

Unfortunately - I am trying use Cake's fxchorus, fxreverb, fxdelay and P5's studioverb2. I was met with a message that went something like this when doing the scan... This plug only works in Cakewalk. I was hoping.

Am I doing something wrong you think??

Thanks,

Good point. And I don't know the answer.

You may be running the 64 bit Sonar version and it may not be able to use those plugins. They are all DX 32 bit types.
