  • Melodyne not working right! [SOLVED]

I just tried to use Melodyne and it will only work in "Play" mode.

The Activation Assistant opens and says I don't have an internet connection. Yeah, it's slow but it's there, so what gives???

I click on the "License" link to activate it and nothing happens.

I went ahead and registered the S/N on Celemony's website... using the internet connection Melodyne says is not there.

I sent Celemony an email so I'm hopeful to get help there.

I had a similar issue with Addictive Drums. Why is there no heads up on the song and dance required to use these add-ons?

Funny no one here is having this issue. Fortunately I had the same issue in January with their Trial program and saved the steps needed to get it working.

It is a Windows issue apparently very few people have.

glad you got it.

I've had some problems with IK software activations.... using the USB stick to transfer the key.... so I now just connect to the net momentarily to activate the software.

But that's a different problem.... also solved...

Well, I'm definitely having a Windows issue. And I'm hoping that because this topic is marked as Solved that one of its contributors may be able to help me.

My Melodyne is stuck in playback mode and is therefore unusable.

I have never once seen an activation window for it. When I click on help / license nothing happens.

I have tried Celemony tech support and after they recommended a number of steps (including redownloading directly from them; trying running Melodyne Singletrack as an admin; putting their Melodyne Licenser.exe in Data Execution Prevention) they have told me they're out of ideas and concluded by saying they were out of ideas and that "It must be an administrative issue."

I'm running Windows 7, 64 bit, and if anyone has any ideas I would greatly appreciate it.

I vaguely remember some people having the authorization window pop up "behind" another window which made it seem like it wasn't working.  Are you trying to authorize from within Sonar or standalone?

Thanks for the response.

I have tried it in both Sonar and standalone. Neither had a window behind the active Melodyne window. :-|

Authorise on the Celemony website first, as this will mean the relevant details are able to be synchronised. The authorisation is based on the internet registration.

That will be helpful for others in the future who will be confronting similar issues.

I should have noted above though that I already authorized on the Celemony website as one of the troubleshooting attempts.

How I did it was open the plug-in, click on the link offered by the plug-in and follow everything else through. The chances are that the authorisation server was busy, playing up or under maintenance.

EDIT - one of the troubleshooting steps was to disconnect the internet and click on the license link. This was supposed to bring up an offline authorization page which I was supposed to send to Celemony.

This link did not work even when there was no live internet.

It is also inactive regardless of time of day or whether or not I've launched as an administrator.

Also, I've never seen an authorization window get spawned.
