Is there any way to rename effects?

I love how all of UAD's plugins show up with UAD in the beginning of the name.   My Waves plugins are ALL OVER THE PLACE when listed in the effects layout.  Is there any way that you guys know of to rename my Waves plugins with.... lets say ..... the word ( waves ) in the name of the effect?

I have the latest and greatest Sonar Version.

Use a custom plug-in layout or rename the plug-ins using the plug-in properties dialog. The problem with renaming plug-ins using the properties dialog is the custom names will be lost anytime a VST reset is performed.

When I try to rename my FabFilter plugins, the name is lost immediately after clicking Okay. Renaming in the layout works, but the FX Bin always shows the full name. Minor thing, but still a bummer.

Yes, a custom layout will only change the name of the plug-in in the layout.

My understanding was that changing the name in the properties under VST configuration should change the name displayed in the FX bin. Not so?

The name immediately reverts back when I change the name of any effect pluggin.  Its not sticking.

So my answer would be "not so".

I mean theoretically that should change the name in the fx bin, if the dialog would accept the changes.

Oh yes, I believe theoretically the name should change and stay changed.

I sent an email to support earlier so I'll report back if I hear anything.
