I don't know about awards - but it makes my studio money ultimately paying the bills+++. :-)

I too have noticed that Sonar is not mentioned as much as it should! I had a couple pro-tool guys sitting behind me one day in the studio as I was working. They kept looking at each other like "wow" and "whoa". Pro tools was designed IMO, just to separate the big name studios from average consumers. CW was the first software I used but not the only. NOW IT IS! Like Craig said, its for us who can think for ourselves.

Its is a bummer when you're looking for other to collaborate with on projects and they are all gung ho to work with you until they find out you're using Sonar Plat.. then the RUN not walk away!

Cakewalk needs good PR and send free copies of Sonar Plat with a tech/teacher to all the DAW schools in the world. Well you know! THINK BIG! :)
OR put some cash into ads on YouTube of some "real" in the studio projects that are going on, maybe even live feeds stuff.

OR just put set up two exact systems one with Pro tools and one with Plat. and record to both at the same time. then show it all on YouTube and have a blind sound test.. make it a big promo deal at all trade shows, YouTube and Advertise it!!!!!!!!!

I say "let them run!" If they don't understand that DAW's today can all work together in some way then I would "run" from them! They are no more than "snobs". It's kind of funny now, its more about the studio and software than the actual song itself! When someone ask me about PTOOLS I proudly say "no!" I let them listen to a song I've produced with CW PLATINUM and then we get to work. You have to educate the uneducated. Just my thoughts...

Sonar is professional. Reaper is professional. Pro Tools is the industry standard but losing ground. Your DAW is what you make of it. Pick one, learn it and make some music.

I've tracked lots of sessions in Mac Pro Tools, but then I would always take the WAV files and bring them into SONAR for adult editing. FWIW one of those projects won an award. But I think the performers and engineering won the award, not the software

Sadly, this is becoming more evident as AVID seems to be casting the native users adrift.  They seem to be moving toward a smaller market that is willing to pay much, much more for software and hardware.  It's getting back to an exclusive club that is willing to lay out an entrance fee (of hardware and software) exceeding eight grand.

Hmmmmm.   Adding those wacka, wacka, wah-wah guitar tracks?

Yeah.... don't know if I agree with that.  I think that it's becoming more of an exclusive club but I'll agree that if you pick out a DAW product and learn it, you can make as much music as your imagination and ingenuity will allow.
