This thread should have been moved.

Why was it locked?
=======================================

My 2nd contribution to the topic:

10:   Sonar does not cost enough.

Unfortunately cost and quality are related without reason.

But, Perception is reality.

Sonar should have always cost more than Pro Tools.

And Unit Sales and Market share almost never correspond to company profit.

Was my explanation not clear enough?

It was arbitrary.

It should have been moved to the Coffee House.

Because it is a legitimate conversation.

Your question is answered in the thread.

the REAL reason, is that people are not comfortable with pure honesty and are not open for true debate.  Especially when you are criticizing the product they use.  It's kinda like politics.

People claim to be open to conversation, but then the ego rises like a phoenix from the flame.

the REAL reason,

Unless you're claiming to be able to read my mind please refrain from posting speculation when I already gave my reason.

No - can't read your mind, but that's usually the case I've seen on here.  Most people's concerns are not for the OP's feelings, especially when they are criticizing the product.

FWIW, the OP also posted the same thing on Gearslutz. Don't know what his motivation is. Perhaps he is trying to figure out why his DAW of choice, Sonar, doesn't get the recognition it deserves in the professional studio world. He says he has been a user for 10 years.  I don't think he was being critical of Sonar. I think he's a fan.

This is an interesting point of view. I don't know if it is true or not. I know that any thread that is discussing the merits of Sonar is bound to be full of personal opinion. "Pure honesty" is a phrase I don't see often. Mostly because there is no such thing.

Hey, even if the user DOES have gripes with Cakewalk, SO WHAT?  Let's hear them!  No one should be BLOCKED or posts CUT OFF because of a particular viewpoint - unless they post like 20 posts of the same thing or are on the lines of abusive.

I for one found it an interesting question and would have loved to read some answers  - if Karyn (Forum Administrator) did not lock the thread.
