I find it a unanswerable question. There is no way to know who uses what. The question is by its nature provocative. I think that alone was good reason to lock the thread.

So you are not for free thought and open ideas, even if provocative?

And it is not unanswerable.  There has to be some reasons that Sonar is not widely used in the industry for the most part.   Wether they be valid reasons or not, that remains unknown - but even if they are not valid, why shouldn't we be able to discuss them?

Seems as if the admins just need to shut down anything ANTI-Cakewalk.

I quite clearly stated my reason for locking the thread.  Please re-read it.

Was my explanation not clear enough?

Your explanation is very unclear.  If you read the OP's thread on Gearslutz you'll see he's a Sonar fan asking a serious question.  So was the thread locked because:

1) The standard response on this forum is to attack anyone appearing to not praise Sonar and accusing them of being troll.  Were you saving the thread from that?
2) You thought the OP was dissing Cakewalk?
3) Something else?

I am for free thought. Thought is not the same as a post. I am defending a host for doing their job. I did not say anything on that thread or lock it.

I will lock this one if this sort of questioning continues. That thread was locked and its over. Move on.

So a thread that seemed to be pretty calm was shut down because Karyn thought it could turn bad? Maybe I can't see all the posts because I saw nothing that warranted it being shut down. Now we have a live thread that will definitely turn bad and NEED to be shut down.

Sorry Karyn, but you were way out of line.

John, you're no better. Quit throwing your weight around and threatening to lock things because you disagree with a comment. That's not a moderator/host's job, you're supposed to facilitate, not instigate.

Let us hope it wont turn bad. I am counting on you all to be considerate. Let this pass. It is not the end of the world.

At the risk of being suspended...

John, shut up!  You are a waist of space on this (or any) forum.

Like some other "hosts,"  you fail to read things in context.  Are you hosts stuck on key words to target or what?  It's you who make these threads so frustrating.  Damn!  Can't even have a conversation.

The CW forum hosts suck!!  Yeah, I said it.
