Reading this thread as it may pertain to my system too, hope I'm not hi-jacking....
 
I have not installed either of the Platinum updates/upgrades, I'm wary.  Last night I noticed that the first processor bar is about 3x as high as the other three.  Is that abnormal?
 
I usually turn the wireless adapter off (disable) and also disable AVG.
