hi everyone, something strange is happening. when I try and start X-2 I get an error message saying "ERROR LOADING BITMAP"
can anyone tell me what in the hell this means and how do I get rid of it?
thanks

something I just noticed is that some of my VST's are not showing properly. I have no idea what to do

Does X2 start anyway?

Do you have Icons enabled in your Consul and Track views?

Is is possible at one time you were using a custom wallpaper and the file is now missing? The wallpaper setting is at the bottom of Preferences > Customization > Colors.

thank you for responding, I will address both answers, 1, no, I do not have icons (I think their dopy) 2, I never mess around with the default wallpaper, however, I will go and try and change it, then change it back.

sorry, the other question to my question. sonar does start (sort of) I need to keep clicking the error message, then X-2 runs fine

Maybe flushing the picture cache would help. It's my go-to action for graphics issues.

this is nuts, I have removed some of the crappy VST's I bought thinking that would do it, nope. one thing I notice, while X2 is loading the error pops up when VST's are loading. I never use the drum program that comes with X2 so I got rid of it. john said something about flushing the picture cashe, can you tell me what that is please? I would hat to have to reinstall X2, it takes so much time reloading EZdrummer etc. I wonder if I set all the colors back to the default state would do it? it'sa lot quicker reassigning colors then a total reinstall.
needless to say....help!!

Try opening the project in safe mode (hold shift while opening). The UI of plugins also have bitmaps in them, so may be possible you partially removed a plugin being used by the project.

The picture cache is a folder in your Projects folder and contains the waveform pictures in tracks. Clearing that out may help, and is worth trying.

Can you explain exactly what you have done regarding this?

Sonar doesn't come with EZdrummer, so again, what exactly have you done?

I wonder if I set all the colors back to the default state would do it

No, I doubt this would do a thing.

I used to see this error a long time ago when I was loading certain soft synths (can't remember which now, although z3ta+ may have been one of them). I believe the error was caused by not having enough RAM available. Can't guarantee anything, of course, but you may want to make sure that you have adequate RAM installed and that it is not cluttered with other things when you are loading Sonar. That is, close things you are not using before loading Sonar.
