I'm using Sonar 3. I recently purchased a new computer and have never had this problem before.

I am trying to bounce to track a crash symbol. And, instead of getting the entire crash sound, I'm just getting a portion of it - the sound cuts off right away.

Any ideas on this.

Thanks in advance.

Just drag out the MIDI clip before bouncing, stretching it so it's a couple seconds longer in duration.

Hi bit - how are you doing.

Are you saying to just grab the end of the midi clip and make it longer.

I hate to be stupid, but . . .

;-D

Thanks for you help.

Never mind bit - I got it. Just went to Process - length - and stretched it - it came out perfect.

Thanks again for your help.

Dang, that didn't do what I thought - that changed the tempo. I guess I'm still stumped.

No, just drag the right hand edge of the midi clip containing the crash cymbal and extend the length of the clip, not the data inside it

Other options:

1. Select time in the timeline that extends past the end of the clip before bouncing.

2. If it's it's a synth track, right-click the Freeze button to get Freeze Options, and set a sufficient Freeze Tail Duration to capture the decay. Note that you'll also want to uncheck Remove Silence, and check Track FX even if there are no FX on the track.

Marcus,
Is it the end of the clip that is getting truncated, or the individual notes?
Which synth are you using?
Is that the old Sonar 3?
Does the track play normally before you bounce?

This happens to me all the time.  I use the Smart Tool.  Grab the end of the clip and drag it a bar or tow.  I do this on ALL MIDI before bouncing so I get sustain, ring, reverb, etc.

TIP:  Your needs may be different, but I highlight all the MIDI clips in a single track and go to Clips | Bounce to Clips before converting to audio so I only have to drag the end of one clip instead of the ends of many small clips.

I first noticed this when freezing a Kontakt instrument bass.

It's the individual notes being truncated.
I'm using BFD2 drum module.
Yea, it's an old Sonar 3. Sonar 3.1.1.
And, the track plays normally before I bounce it.

Thanks everyone for the help. I'm messing around with it right now.
