Hi There , i wonder if anyone could please assist me? I have tried to convert My midi tracks in sonar into audio form but am having no success, i followed all instructions but with no luck, i also eventually inserted an audio track below the MIDI track and played the midi track while trying to record it onto the audio track, it recorded but did not play back at all. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated please

More info please:

Are the MIDI tracks driving a keyboard synthesizer / sound module connected via MIDI/USB cable to the computer?  Or are you using software-synthesizers in the computer?

What soundcard/audio-device is being used (manufacturer and model)?

What driver mode is being used (mme, wdm, asio)?

which soft-synth are you using?  What are your I/O settings on your tracks?

Hi there , thanks for making contact, the software sythersizer i am using is in the computer and it's microsoft GS wavetable synth.
The audio device is Creative speakers High Definition audio device, this is the device i always use for output sound, there is also an digital audio s/pdif high definition audio device option but i do not use this ( as i dont seem to hear any sound when i've tried this option), the driver mode used is wdm i believe, this is what i saw under properties for drive. i hope this information helps.
kind regards ben

It is sufficient , that you insert a new audio track in your project.
After you must choice the option  reverse tracks to an audio track .
If want to hear, as result, exactly what your midi tracks are playing,
remember to choice the option "what you hear ".

This is the wrong way to do this. Use a soft synth in Sonar such as the TTS-1 for outputting audio from MIDI track/s. Set the out of the MIDI track to the in of the TTS-1. You should hear audio. To make it permanent you can mix it down and use export to create an audio file or use bounce to create a new audio track with the mix in it. Or just freeze it and export.

The Sound Blaster it a poor choice for pro audio. Sonar is a pro quality DAW. You need a sound card with good ASIO or WDM drivers.

I use 8.5, and I convert my midi to audio using the bounce feature. Then you make a wave file or mp3 from that.

Gents, this is over four years old thread.
(I wonder through which process these are found to get revived :o)
By Search-function I guess.

So what? If someone needs help, they need help. Besides, time is relative. Four years ago is just a nanosecond in the history of the cosmos.
