hmm.. ok.. thanks.  I must be doing something wrong somehow.  I'm simply dragging a groove from BFD3 to a MIDI track, but it's not allowing it.  I'll try again and try to see how I'm screwing this up.

Just to be sure, you are dragging it from the actual timeline in the BFD 3 Groove Editor (Bottom, Parallel of the GUI), and not attempting to drag it from the selection lists (for palettes) ? You can drag single grooves directly from the drop downs, but not the whole palette/group whatever.

Just FYI - my comment was based on the assumption that when you talked about dragging MIDI clips from BFD I thought "from" meant generated from BFD. The drag and drop issue I'm describing relates to dragging things from the Windows environment (desktop, folders) to SONAR so I don't know if that's an issue here.

All - thanks for the help.  I'm not sure what was going on - but it seems to work fine now.  I can't explain it - Maybe something was wrong with the project I was working on.  I opened a fresh project and was able to drag and drop grooves from BFD3 directly into a MIDI track without issue.  After rebooting, I went back into my previous project - and it all works fine.  I can't explain it, I think I'm doing the exact same thing I tried 5x before,  however in a new project and after a reboot, all is well - who knows.  thanks for all the help.

@JIH64 - No, I'm just dragging BFD3 grooves directly from the groove list (not from the timeline), as is done in this video at 1:09  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iJ50DumaABA

Thanks again all.

Glad you got it working. I'm out of here, my Cake forums and Sonar days are done. All the best.

If you're trying to drag the entire palette straight in sonar's midi track you can't do it, you can only drag individual grooves in one at a time.

However, to drag the entire palette in a midi track, load the palette in BFD3, then select all the grooves on the right hand side by click the top (or bottom groove) then using the Ctrl/Shift keys select the bottom (or top) groove so all grooves are highlighted blue.

Then drag the grooves into the BFD3 drum track at the bottom of the groove edit page, from the drum track you can then drag the whole palette as one into sonar's midi track.

Here's a little video I made to demonstrate.

Thanks for taking the time to put this video demo together, Steve. This issue has been driving me crazy!
