  • Workflow question: better way to find a track out 30+ tracks by name?

Scenario: working with 35+ tracks, some are in Folders, some are not..
Is there a way to locate a certain track to check on something very very quickly instead of eyeballing?
In my mind, I want to do CTRL+F (like in google browser) and type in 'gtr_Lead' and find the lead guitar track...

Thanks

The simple answer is no.

Don't you organise your tracks so that like ones are together. They can then be placed in folders.

Any track can be moved so that they are organised.

I've often worked with 100+ tracks and not had a problem finding a specific track quickly.

I wouldn't mind something like there is in theme editor - a field that is used as name filter.
Thinking the selection in top of track view, an extra field to filter as part of name, everything else hidden for now.

Thinking that track manager might be another way to come closer to a good solution.
TM today is not so smooth in my view.

So TM remake to cover both TV and CV - a checkbox columns if to be visible or not.
And on top a filter field by name which you want to reach - hide all not visible in list - or similar button and exit.
Another button - select all in list - and similar.

Using Control Surface (any) together with my plug-in, you can assign buttons to focus specific track by name. For example, "Btn1" focus "Flute", "Btn2" move focus "Piano", etc. With LEDs under pads (like on my MPK mini) I also see what is selected.
