I am attempting to download and install SONAR Platinum. I installed Command Center for Windows and started the install last night. It had progressed to about 50% before I retired last night. This morning it is hung at "Downloading... 93.65% complete". The network is active on the laptop, but it has been hung in this state for two hours. No errors, no cancel option, pretty much hung in nothing land with no user assistance to recover.

What should I do? Kill Command Center and start over?  I am not impressed with the new distribution model...

I would first try to minimize CCC to see if there is an open dialog box hidden behind it.  It sounds like it is hanging going from download to installation (which should happen seamlessly but may something on your system is requiring a use response to make that transition.)

Thanks for the suggestion. I minimized and nothing behind. CCC put up a dialog that download is progressing in background and will notify when done. No progress from 93.65%...

CCC has been hung at 93.65% for at least 10 hours. Death to CCC!

Shut down virus scanner and restart the process. Previously downloaded files will not be downloaded again. If this does not work, call tech support.

Shut down Windows Firewall. Can't see how to shutdown Defender. Probably lost somewhere between Microsoft Metro and classic windows environment. Will try CCC again.

Are ISO files available to download for Sonar Platinum? I really don't have time to screw around with installation software that doesn't work...

Thanks!

Yes, you can download them from your account the same as previous versions (and manually install).

Depending on exactly where the process hung, some or all of the download files may already exist in the C3 download cache. The default for the cache is "C:\ProgramData\Cakewalk\Command Center\Downloads". It may be to your benefit to figure out why your system is failing though.

Brand new Windows 8.1 system with all Microsoft updates. No other apps have been installed. I have a very stable and reliable 7Mbps internet service. Its as vanilla as can be. Would love to understand while it is failing, but CCC provides no errors or detailed download status. Not worth the trouble. I'll get the ISOs...

It appears to have been Windows Defender or Windows Firewall. I finally figured out how to access it on Windows 8.1. You have to type "Defender" into the search box. No access from Metro UI. No access from desktop UI. Sigh...

Anyway, after only 24 hours, I have Sonar Platinum installed :-)

Thanks for the assistance!
