Hey there all:

Not sure where to put this post but need some help....got an Akai MPD32 last year and would like to use it in Sonar X3. The problem I am having is seeing where it needs to be found in the pull down menu.

Please advise and if you know where best to put this post please do so

Appreciate it very much

Cheers

Blessings

I am finishing up a due by tomorrow morning project, but if nobody has helped you by then, i will be glad to help. I have an MPD26 which is quite similar.  Akai controllers can be a pain in any DAW (except the ones designed specifically for Ableton).  For starters, you will need to go to preferences and make sure you add a new control surface.  You can add as an Act controller or try using the beta software Azlow is offering: http://forum.cakewalk.com/You-can-integrate-your-Control-Surface-with-SONAR-as-deep-as-you-want-m3125708.aspx

i see potential in this to work better than ACT

I also have an MPD26 that I would like to get working with S-Plat ... and maybe someday understand the diff between ACT and a regular CS ...

In one sentence, ACT is a PART of CW CS (API) responsible for controlling plug-in in focus.

To make it clear:
ACT is NOT a different API, it is a part of the only one.
"ACT MIDI" is just a name, "Generic" plug-in is also "ACT capable" (as well as most other hardware specific plug-ins).
ACT is NOT the only way to control plug-in parameters.
ACT is NOT mapping MIDI signal to parameter directly (unlike "Remote control" for example).

BTW, why this thread is in the Forum Discussion? HOSTS! Some work for you!
