Hi all,
This is my first post here, so I hope I've posted in the right place.  I recently purchased Sonar Artist, and I've been having frustrating troubles with latency.  I've already looked through the forums, watched videos, etc.  I feel like I've tried everything.  Unfortunately, I'm fairly bad with technical things, so I was hoping someone here could help me out.

Here's my problem: When I adjust the buffer size slider to "fast" the audio distorts.  When I slide the buffer closer to the middle, the sound is perfect and clear, but there's a huge gap between the time I play a note and the time I hear it.  I feel I am using good hardware, so I don't understand what the problem is.  Also, I'm only recording a clean guitar (no effects/plugins) and I've changed the sample rate/bit depth/buffers in playback queue options to everything I can think of.  Still, whenever I try to go "fast" on the buffer slider the audio distorts/becomes unusable.

Here's my set up:  Guitar to Focusrite ISA one Preamp, Preamp to Complete Audio 6 interface, Interface to Computer, Computer to Interface, Interface to speakers.

My computer is Windows, 64 Bit.  2 GhZ Intel core I7 processor.  8GB of Ram.

If I haven't included all necessary information, please let me know.

Thanks for the help!!

If you are using the mixing latency slider in SONAR, try changing the driver mode in Preferences > Audio > Playback and Recording to ASIO and adjust the latency using the software supplied by the interface vendor.
