If you can, try using a wired mouse and see if this persists.

And keyboard as well. And please could you update your system and software specs in your footer (like mine).
Much appreciated.

Try this as well:

chkdsk and defrag is still recommended anyway (issue fixed or not).

Thanks...

With the pause key engaged, Sonar only updates the display every second or so (to save CPU cycles), that may be the issue.

never used pause so this is a normal playback, the playhead moves normally as it should smooth except when I move around my mouse cursor..

I have similar behavior, only when I move the mouse curser around in the track view. It also pauses meter displays on my UAD plugins.

Right, mine is working as smooth as in all other versions, using a Logitech wireless S520 mouse & keyboard, if that helps.

No perceived problem.

This is not on my main rig, it's on my second machine, an i7 950, Win 7, 24Gb Ram, and a gaming quality GFX, not sure what model. This system was built by me in 2009

Well I had a session today, recorded two tracks no issues like this.
Please check #3 and #12. I suggest running Windows update as well.

Also you mind updating your footer with your system specs (i.e. like mine). We esp need to know what graphics cards you are running (in the footer ideally), so we may be able to identify a commonality, but it could be other hardware as well.

If you've got wireless devices set up please tell us as well..

Same issue here, but this was a work in progress mix from X3c, haven't had time to try a new project from scratch. I have rescanned all my vsts, my video card drivers are all up to date. Will report back tonight after trying a new project. BTW I cannot defrag as my main system drive is an SSD, I have defragged my other drives.

Edited to display system specs:
i7 (3.6 ghz)  Win 7 64 SP 1
8GB of Ram
Edirol UA 101 usb audio device
Nvidia GT 640 graphics card

OH! Maybe try this as well - In windows please do this:

Right click My Computer -> Properties -> Advanced System Settings -> Advanced -> Settings.
.... and make sure performance is set as "Let Windows choose what's best for my computer".

Thanks..
