About the viewing multiple plugins on the second monitor. I tested this with my multidoc and console open on the second monitor.

When opening the second plugin from the console view it does indeed stay open however it is behind the multidoc and so not visible.

If I drag both plugins to the main monitor then they are both visible in front of the main program window.
If I open the plugins from the inspector instead of the console view then both plugs remain visible on top of the console view.

I think this has something to do with the modal nature of the multidoc. I also tried with the console view undocked and got the same result.

I happen to have my primary display set to an HDTV, and the Windows Default Audio Device is set to the HDMI for that TV, and has run like that with zero issues for nearly 3 years.

I think if templates other than the Normal template are able to open without problems in Sonar, that it is likely some kind of corruption with the Normal template - which should be pretty easy to recreate, as there isn't much in the stock Normal project template.

Sorry you are having troubles, in any case, and hope you can get them sorted out.

I can drag 10 plugins to the 2nd monitor but as soon as I select one say, to make a change in a parameter then all the others disappear. Having the console in the multidock or not doesn't make a difference. If I move the console out of the way the plugins are not there. If I move the plugins to the 2nd monitor with nothing else there then all the plugins remain there. It's very weird. More testing tomorrow. Goodnight and thanks for everyone's ideas.

John, thanks...I clicked the pin and it works.

I don't like how you have to continue to tell Sonar you want to keep plugins open.

I wish there was a global switch to keep all plugins open until you choose to close them.

Mudgel, sorry I did not have time to investigate your problems.

Hopefully tonight.

That's OK. I didn't get a chance today either and have been up all night with a dose of insomnia. I feel wrecked so not up for some activity that requires logic to follow through. There's always tomorrow.

So back to my problem.
Today I try to recreate my normal template from scratch.
When Sonar has no normal template it opens with the track view showing and I Spector and Browser closed.
As soon as I add the Console and open it bang, Sonar crashes. Repeated the recipe 5 consecutive times with same result.
Clearly this is abnormal and not everyone is experiencing the same thing otherwise the forum would be lit up.
I have a lot of troubleshooting to do but I'm still intrigued by this turn your computer off one day then turn it back on and Sonars console view and 2nd monitor display starts going crazy. The issue now is that symptoms are escalating all around display.

I think I'll concentrate my efforts on video, memory and hard drives. There must be some hardware failure slowly creeping in. I think I'll change out my video card to start with.

So I've rebuilt my normal template and all is OK as far as crashing and instability of display goes.

Plugins on 2nd screen issue still remains but I think unless you stretch your Sonar view across both monitors then the behaviour I have described is as designed. The plugins do in fact stay open behind the console or multidock window.

Easy work around is to drag the Comsole over to the 2nd monitor in the Multidock then I came easily use D to open and close the window revealing the plugins behind. It actually provides flexibility not previously there esp now that we have Plugin Recycle window which allows multiple plugins open at the one time.

Along with Screensets this is a very powerful way of manipulating views.

Who'd a thought. What started off as a problem turns out to give me more options. OPTIONS! Great just what I need, more choices. Sheesh!
