I'm just now getting into soft synths and I wanted really good soft synth sounds, so after reading lots of positive opinions on Dimension Pro, I upgraded my Dimension LE to the Pro version. Now, I'm getting the Proteus Planet Earth for Dimension Pro to have some unusual ethnic sounds. What's your opinions about Proteus Planet Earth? I'm also wondering about Proteus 2000, which is general purpose sounds. Is it a good addition to Dimension Pro, or does Dimension Pro already have better versions of the same kinds of sounds? Thanx for the input.

There is a free softsynth E-MU Proteus VX available that includes a similar set of sounds.  You may wish to check this out first.

I have all 6 of the DSF's EMU series, purchased a year ago.

Planet Earth is great & worth the money.  I haven't messed w/Proteus 2000 too much.  I am finding useful sounds just about everytime I go to this series.  I'd say just shop wisely.

ps. If you buy the full pack don't bother registering them because there is no bonus material.  I've gone through proper customer channels & gotten no response from Cakewalk.

Dapper you can get it from 3 places.. cakewalk.. digital sound factory themselves (both downloads) .. or a shop boxed one.

you might find it at DSF discounted as they have sales a fair bit.

I will say though , I'm a big fan of NI Kore though. (try the free one).. but the registered one has a lot of sounds :)
