  • Where's the Melodyne data? (p.2)

Okay, Larry, a bit ironic...I came to back to reply right after I just ended up doing what you suggested :-)
...and for noynekker, it appears that the path for the file is identical in X3 and Platinum, but Platinum is not finding or loading...but there was something a bit strange as well...I opened the file in X3 where everything is working fine...I thought I'd try to save the FX chain and then load that into Platinum...seems there's no "Load FX Chain Preset" in the track right click menu...so I loaded the FX chain present from ProChannel...and there was still not data in Melodyne.

Quite a mystery...but nevertheless, I exported the rendered track from X3 (as I mentioned above) and even though it was the long way around the barn, I'm good. Thank you for your time!

Thanks, I'll check that...not sure exactly how to, but at least now I have a solid lead on fixing the issue.

Open the Melodyne plugin on the track you're dealing with, and click "Settings" in the action bar.  There's a small drop-down menu there which should list "File Manager" as the first option. Click that to see where the plugin is expecting to find its data.  There is also a cache setting if you open the Melodyne editor in stand-alone mode.  Those two don't have to be the same.  Since you can still see the data in X3, the cache must still be safe.  Check that File Manager setting for both X3 and 2015 to ensure they match.  Hopefully, this will solve the puzzle.  Good luck!

I would definitely file a problem report for this.  I would guess that most people use melodyne as a region fx because it's easier to work with.  Personally, I wouldn't use the plugins and having them in an fx chain in the prochannel might be one of those weird issues that never got tested.

I have a workaround for you if you'd like...
in melodyne's vst plugin window in X3, click on the vst2 or vst3 dropdown button at the top of the plugin window and click save preset.  I'd save it to your project directory, giving it a name that's meaningful.  Then, when you open the project in platinum, open melodyne and click the same button and select load preset.  select the .fxp or .vstpreset file you saved in X3 and all your edits should transfer into Platinum.

Let me know if this works out for you.
