An FX Chain can be used as an automated input gain.

I would try freezing the track where the clip gain appears not to export properly.

Thanks...

i didnt think of trying to freeze it. I'll try that tho the project is finished,

I did quick test when I saw your post and it seemed to work fine. If all else fails, you can automate the track's input gain instead.

Thanks brundlefly...

I thought of that but there doesn't seem to be an entry for it in the beloved Edit Filter.... I looked a few times thinking I must have overlooked it...

Oops. My mistake. You're right. I guess that makes sense, since input gain on an audio track is really happening at the clip level so that's where they put it.

I was thinking to route the track to a dedicated bus where you can automate input gain, but I like scook's FX Chain solution much better.

I realize you want to solve the mystery as much as the problem, but that's a good workaround for the time being.

yeah... i might try sticking a gain boost plugin as a clip fx...

I've found clip automation in X2a in general really flakey.

I'm having this same problem.  Clip gain envelopes not exporting.  They are working in playback.  Some export some don't.  This is causing me mucho problems in the final stages of an album I'm working on.  A

What version are you working in? This post was long ago in X2... I have not had such a problem since then...

X3 Windows 8.1 with the e patch.  Did you ever find a solution in X2?

As a possible work around you could highlight the offending phrase and do:
Process-> Apply Effect -> Gain

Maybe that will stick and make happy client.

Honestly...

It has not been an issue for me since the time of this report... So either it is fixed, or I haven't needed it again... Or maybe it was something in that project itself and you've run into it?

I'm currently running SPlat on both a win7pro and win8 system and have not seen this happen since x2...

Work around? I must have found one as I moved on with that piece. Maybe it was simply bouncing or freezing the track before doing the export? I honestly don't remember as it was near 2 years ago...
