  • [Solved] Bug in AUDIO FILE save location?

Found that Sonar is continuing to save audio data in an old directory -- ignoring the new drive and directory that is setup in Preferences and certainly not saving "per project", as requested.

Now, this happens with only old files that I call up.  In detail, I made a project in 2013, and at the time had it save to d:\cakewalk bins\audio.  I've since changed the default audio directory to e:\cakewalk bins\audio (although I have "per project" saving going on now, and my current projects do that just fine).  Even still, when I call up a 2013 project, the audio continues to be created in d:\cakewalk bins\audio.

Is there a setting in the file code that continues to override my global setting?  That doesn't make sense, practically speaking.  Is this a bug that can be fixed?

Thanks all.

Once opened have you tried doing a save as to the new location you now use for your projects?

As the previous two posts are hinting at, yes, the original audio storage location is stored in the project file until you save it to another folder with Per Project audio folders enabled. And you'll need to check the Copy Audio option if there's any existing audio in the project.

That did it, friends, and thank you!

I have been saving and autosaving the file numerous times in the correct directory, but not until I performed the prescribed "Save As" did it start working properly.

Very appreciated, Wookie, Meh and Brundle!
