Just as I suspected the Onscreen Virtual Controller is just Eye Candy and Pretty Much Useless!!!!!
If you are looking for a keyboard plugin that IS what  Cakewalk’s  Sonar Should have been checkout the FREE KEYBOARD PLUGIN  call  Chordz  made by CodeFn42.
AND TELL ME IF I DON’T SPEAK THE TRUTH!

I don't agree. The vst you point to is a cool device but it is more suited to one finger chord generation than to straight midi entry, which the cake virtual controller is intended to be. There are lots of options available that do something similar, but the root issue with a vst as opposed to a midi device is the routing that has to be set up each time you want to use it. Defeats the purpose. If you want to see more features in the virtual keyboard (I do), go and add your voice to the thread asking for improvements to it in the feature request forum. It's in there - I started it.

On the positive side of this thread, I'm going to check out Chordz as my left hand never seems to know what my right hand is doing.

Yes it looks like a cool little device for sure. Thanks to the OP for bringing it up.

Don’t get me wrong I really love cakewalk I have been using it since the early days. And will put it up toe to toe with any DAW, Pro Tools, Cubase, etc… Just want this product to get better and stay Useful and not just put anything out!!!

Does this virtual controller lose focus when you click on an effect/soft synth with the mouse ?
Ie, you have to click on it again for it to recognize keystrokes ?

That's what makes third party onscreen keyboards of limited use.

@dgh97 - that font size is making my eyes explode - is there a chance you might make that a little less gigantic?  :)
