I tried useing the new keyboard to record a little lick and found that I couldn't start recording. IOW when I went to hit the record button to record the midi info on a track, the controller lost focus. When I make all keystrokes go to the controller, I can't start record.
 
I have got to be missing something! : )

Don’t get me wrong I really love cakewalk I have been using it since the early days. And will put it up toe to toe with any DAW, Pro Tools, Cubase,etc… Just want this product to get better and stay Useful and not just put anything out!!!

I ask what is wrong with the keyboard CW included with the latest update. If you have nothing to say about that please stop posting stuff that is meaningless. 
 
Please use a font that is appropriate for this forum.

That's interesting.  Why would "all keystrokes" include mouse clicks elsewhere ?  I thought the function was to send the plugin keystrokes no matter what.  (And that's the solution that isn't available to third-party virtual keyboards).
 
Or - can't you, after hitting record, click on the keyboard again to get focus back and then proceed to play/record ?
 
I was hoping that Cakewalk would have found a solution to this given that they have full control of the keyboard(s).
 

Geez, I have not had any trouble using it for controlling transport with focus on a track.

I got it to work. Just move along. Nothing to see here!! : )

Unless I'm missing something, controllers and plug-is are different things.

How do you resolve conflicts between keyboard notes and keyboard shortcuts ?

If my thinking is correct this was bill as a ONSCREEN KEYBOARD at first...  Just sayin... 

I really like the new Sonar  the effects are on the one!!!!!  Thank you Mr. Anderton
 

But this  ONSCREEN KEYBOARD or  Onscreen Virtual Controller or aka EYE CANDY is another story.. wow
