Hi all!
I am wondering if anyone knows how to get the guitar to MIDI function on the GT-001 working properly with Sonar X3?  I don't use plugins much so I am not really familiar with them.  I'd love to connect my guitar and have drum or synth sounds come out.  I have a feeling I am not setting up Sonar right for this.  Any help appreciated.  Thanks!

Welcome to the forum.
Have you downloaded and installed the latest driver for the 001 and you OS?

In SONAR, is the BOSS listed and selected as a MIDI device under Preferences?
What is the input of the MIDI track you're trying to record on?
What is it's output? That should be the soft synth you inserted.

Thanks for the reply!  Yes I have the latest drivers.

Under preferences/midi, I do have the Boss selected.  One issue is that three things with the Boss come up.  I don't know which one to use, so I selected all three of them.

Right now I just have 1 MIDI track.  Nothing else.  No audio tracks, no effects, nothing. It is getting its input from the GT 001 MIDI Omni.  The output is going through the Dimension E 1.  I have one of the organs loaded up.

I recorded some messing around.  Something did record on the MIDI track.  However I don't hear anything.

One other thing:  The Boss seems to insist on being the audio input and output interface, even though I have the Roland Octacapture and prefer that.  My headphones therefore are into the Boss.  When I play the guitar I hear guitar but I don't know if that is just from the Boss or if it is going through Sonar.

I still have a feeling that this a fairly simple problem- I just don't have something hooked up properly.  Still it vexes me.

I vaguely remember- don't MIDI tracks have to run through an audio track to be heard, or is that just to record them as audio?  Hmmm...

All help appreciated.
