HI Folks, if i have hit the wrong forum apologies first time using a forum. I am trying to understand the best way to record guitar using sonar, I have the following spec,
Windows 8.1
Intel i5 2.5ghz
64 bit OS
Sonar X3 Studio
Komplete Audio 6 Sound Card
Fender G Dec 3 30 amp
Cakewalk A-800 Pro Keyboard
AKAI RPM 3 Speakers
Im a hobbiest and normally play around using my G DEC but what I want to do is record the sound from the G DEC into Sonar, I can currently do this by connecting the AMP via USB and using my onboard sound card to record in Sonar. If im reading things correctly I should be connecting my amp through the Line Out to my soundcard and then using Sonar to record, where I am confused is the Amp has a Left and Right Line Out, do i need a cable that has connectors for both ends and where do I put these into  in the soundcard.

Welcome to the forum.
It looks like the G Dec has both stereo RCA line outputs and a 1/4" guitar out.
Plug either into the front inputs of the interface, but you'll need RCA-to-1/4" adapters for the stereo out.
Use the 1/4" unless you're using one of the amp's stereo effects.
Or record the amp's speaker using a microphone plugged into the interface.

I also run the guitar through a direct box to record the un-amped signal.
 
I built a splitter based upon a Jon Bare design (Building the Great Guitar Splitter, Recording September, 2000). It has 1 input and 4 outputs that maintain proper impedance.
 
I have this wired to a patch panel and normaled through to the DI box, and three amplifiers.
 
I have a track template that creates a folder and tracks for the DI signal, the direct outputs of the amps and the mics as mapped through the audio interface, and all the associated buses (guitar, reverb, distortion, guitars all).
 
I find it easier to delete unneeded tracks than to add them.
