I'm trying to wrap my head around how ACT works, and how Sonar treats it with respect to each plugin.
I've got 8 knobs and 8 sliders on my controller (Novation Launchkey61.) I want to map the 8 knobs to 4 instances of biFilter, (4 cutoff controls, 4 res controls) spanning 4 different channels -- this is just for some added flair for live gigs, and it seems like it should be doable, but I can't figure out how to go about this.
I can map the cutoff/res knobs to individual instances of VST's and have them responding to my controller (which is nice for recording purposes,) but they only respond so long as the VST in question is selected.. as soon as I open another instance, the controller starts controlling THAT instance with the SAME knobs and ignores the previous one, whereas I want 1/2 to be cutoff/res on BiFilter instance 1, and 3/4 to be cutoff/res on BiFilter instance 2, etc. etc. etc. How can I make that happen? There's got to be something I'm missing here. The Documentation for X3 isn't exactly iron-clad. Hell, is this even POSSIBLE?
I know the ACT lock will let me keep fiddling with the ACT controls and do other functions at the same time, but I'm still looking to mess with multiple ACT bits at once... It just seems so tantalizingly close to what I want. Any thoughts?
Thanks!
