I'm using SONAR X3 Studio. When I drag and drop loops (from sample magic or smart loops) or midi grooves from SESSION DRUMMER 3 into a midi track I can't get them to repeat by dragging out the right edge. I make sure that I have snap-to engaged and set for something (usually measures). I try just dragging the right edge and I try right mouse clicking and choosing "groove clipping", waiting for the beveled-looking edge and then dragging the right edge and it still won't repeat. I only get a single iteration for however long (in bars) the original material was. Is there something I'm missing? I can copy and paste the material and repeat it in that way, but I didn't think that was necessary anymore in SONAR. Thanks in advance.

Are you talking about selecting a midi clip (then right clicking & choosing Groove Clip Looping), and the rolling out the clip to the right>>>?

Would this help? http://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=SONAR X2&language=3&help=Looping.14.html#1081480

EDIT: this complete link got seperated....just add it to the url.

Yes, Mesh; that's what I mean. I've done what you posted in the link for midi clips. It doesn't then loop my midi clip. It will only play once. Thanks for the response.

Very odd Neruda......I did this last evening and it was quite simple. When you drag the clip to the right, do you see the midi data in the clip stretched out?

@Mesh
When I drag the clip I see the midi data for the first instance only. Dragging out the corner of the clip then produces just blank space with no midi data in it at all after that first instance. At first I thought the midi data was just too small to see, so I opened the dragged clip in piano roll view, but nope...there's nothing there after the first instance of midi data.  I understand how it should work. It works for audio after I right mouse click and choose 'groove clip looping. I'm able to drag those audio clips out and repeat them incessantly. It does not work for midi for me for some reason. Now when I have a soft synth track inserted as my starting point, I can bounce the midi clips on it to an audio track and then draw in/drag the audio for as many repetitions as I want, but I can't get the native midi clip to "loop" on a midi track. It's cumbersome to have to bounce every midi clip to audio before I can loop it. It's odd. Anyway, thanks for your help. I'll just use the workaround.

Try trimming the clip, bouncing the clip to itself, and then initiating groove clip looping. Maybe there's extra MIDI data later on in the clip?

Hmmmm... I have not done that. I'll give it a try tonight. Thanks very much.
