Any editing going on? Editing while the transport is running interrupts scrolling. To resume scrolling, right-click in the time line.

i realized later that most of those disappearing Now cursor issues were resolved back in X1. So I'm thinking promidi was on the right track, but...

There are two ways to lock scrolling, and they operate independently. One is to enable the keyboard scroll lock, and the other is to click on a clip with Left Click Locks Scroll" enabled in the track view Options > Click Behavior. In order to unlock the latter, you have to click in an empty area of the track view (i.e. in an empty track or below the last track) or in the timeline.

I installed Sonar X3 Studio. Im running Windows 7 with a 6 core Processor...Everything works fine except when Im recording or playing back. The Nowtime scroll line will move about 2 seconds and stop. Cant see the wave until im done. Playing back I have no idea where im at on the wave. L9ck Scroll on the keyboard is not on. was suggested changing the clock setting which I did. went from audio to internal and this worked except sped the audio up and made cracking and popping noise. What can I do?

You don't want to do that. Internal is a PC based clock that's only suitable for MIDI-only projects driving direct-monitored hardware synths with no audio in the project. I didn't even think SONAR would even allow that mode to persist anymore with audio tracks or soft synths in the project.

Make sure you Playback and Record Timing Master are referencing channels on the correct audio interface - hopefully a dedicated interface with native ASIO drivers...?

P.S. I'm not sure what thread scook is referring to...?

msg #13 was originally posted as a new thread. I believe oddtodd1 may have also posted to an older thread but I did not respond to that thread. I only joined the new thread (currently msg #13) to this one.

Got it. I'm the one that told him to start this one.

Problem solved thanks to Sonar Tech support. ... go to Edit > Preferences > Audio > Playback and Recording and change the Driver Mode at the top of the window from ASIO to MME(32-bit). Then, click Apply. The Wave Profiler will run, and once it is finished click OK.
