I'm liking this update. How long have we been able to narrow or widen a single channel in Console View? Is it new or have I missed something that's been around for ages? I now noticed when I opened an existing project after the update and one f my channel strips was wide while the rest were all narrow.

Hi Mike-

Since X3 at least (which is when I dipped my toe in again).

This should not have happened. It appears they knew there were issues before it was released.

The Troubleshooting section was included for the benefit of people who have non-standard installations. Those with standard installations shouldn't need to do anything.

You are missing/watering down my point, I have never ever ever had an issue with installing DPRO samples on what you might deem a "non standard" installation until now (if "non standard" means that CCC doesn't bother looking at the registry settings by design, unlike other installers) and I've installed quite a few of them, so there is no reason why special effort should be applied (and it is actually a lot of special effort pointing to a load of files that fail to link up).

... and regardless all the samples should not be installed to the root of the multisamples folder that's a big no no. That's the main issue. That's never happened before either.

Also as I said the workaround does not work.

The only thing "non standard" appears to be the installation routine which it seems Cakewalk was well aware of.
The installation was sub-standard - I do sometimes feel like I'm installing Linux sometimes.

Everything will be fine when it gets patched I hope... The developer will be well aware of the issue when they compare this installation to any other Dimension Pro sample installation routine, it didn't go through quality control well and corners were clearly cut.

There ya go. I'd never tried. Because I wasn't aware it had become possible. As I said even this time was an accident. Thanks for letting me know Susan.

There's always something to find and something to learn except for scook because he knows everything Sonar. I think secretly he's part of the Sonar code.

Yeah, I think he's gotten himself embedded in there somehow; simply amazing!

And you're welcome

First of all, where Dim Pro and Rapture install multisamples and programs seems like something out of the dark ages of steam-powered synths, so I'm with you on that. But I, not Cakewalk, wrote the Troubleshooting section due to issues with some Expansion Packs I had installed in Dim Pro over the years. Cakewalk was not aware of any issues with the Gold Top because in all their tests on various machines, everything installed as it should.

However because based on past experience I knew issues could arise, I wrote a section which I hoped would be helpful if people encountered problems.

What I mean by "non standard" is in reference to other Dimension Pro install routines.

Craig I know you mean well, but the workaround does not work as I stated a few posts ago, and other Dimension Pro installations work perfectly well, and the samples end up in the root of the multisamples folder, I suspect this happens for """standard""" installations as well...

The samples are really good and it works, that's the main thing, I just get frustrated when files get installed to the wrong place and are not organised to the usual standards, and I can't even move them around via the usual manual methods. I know there are probably bigger issues but this is a new one, packaging is really important. In this case there is no other alternative "manual" method of install.

Don't worry I'm patient, I know there will be an fix to sort this out soon enough (hopefully with the control panel)....

Thanks...

Well I don't know about the installation aspect, I just do the content. But this is a workaround I've used before, and I tested it with the Gold Top, so not sure why it didn't work in your case.

The only thing I can think of it I made a mistake in documenting the workaround. I'll check.

Do you not have .sfz files like this in your installation? Two confirmed so far.

.. and the installation should be picking up where dimension pro samples are being stored in the registry.
There have been many complaints about CCC but it generally respects the file paths as stored in the registry making upgrades pretty good apart from ... see #30. (hardgrove/boost11)
