So scook, I am assuming that the full version lets you import all your IR into menu accessible from with the full version.

Your saying this is not the case?

I love the idea Craig. A review of things that will work with Sonar is a great idea. Perhaps members might to be induced to contribute too? I know Dave AKA Bitfipper did some reviews a while back that were outstanding.

If this is also part of the membership it will be a wonderful valued added extra.

+1 from here.

I don't have the full version but reading the manual, it appears the import process is pretty much the same. I have not been a fan of the way Overloud has handled user IRs in the past and REmatrix looks like it will not change my opinion. When I want to use my own IR library, I use MMultiBandConvolution which goes on sale frequently for around $27.

I agree, there's definite room for improvement. I figure they just assumed people would use the factory IRs and add a few of their own, but that's not how SONAR users roll

FWIW I included a tip in the first release eZine of how I handle adding new impulses. It's unwieldy, but it's the best I've come up with for now.

Note that REmatrix Solo adds all your IRs into one big file named userIRs.rir, which is located at:

 C:\Users\Public\Documents\Overloud\REmatrix Solo\userIRs.rir

To prevent the User menu from getting too unwieldy, you can rename this file (e.g., userIRs_original.rir) so any existing files don’t appear, then experiment with loading the new impulse responses. This will create a new userIRs.rir file. Note which ones are your favorites, then delete the userIRs.rir file, change the original .rir file back to userIRs.rir, and re-load only your favorites.

Thanks for the info scook. I find that hard to believe. But having been a beta tester for some IR programs in the past, I know that it can become a nightmare for programmers to anticipate "every" possible situation that the product will be used in, and "all" possible file paths. I shouldn't be so critical. But at least let us put all the IR files we want in a directory of their choosing. That wouldn't be half bad.

I have though about creating a little db management tool for REmatrix but I am not sure if
1) I would use it
2) If it would really make it easier to maintain
Right now I am rolling around some ideas for a C3 support tool but not knowing the timeline for CW updates to the C3 put the chill on that idea. Still might mess with it this weekend if I get caught up on everything else.

Thanks Craig excellent feedback, let them know about boost11 and hardgrove if possible as well (#30) - thanks...

If you want bullet proof relocation for Multisample folders use a directory junction. It can be added to your current installation in addition to the registry edit even though it makes the registry edit redundant. For example, I have Rapture multisamples in N:\Cakewalk\Rapture\Multisamples so I added a junction by running cmd.exe as administrator an typing:
mklink /j "C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Rapture\Multisamples" "N:\Cakewalk\Rapture\Multisamples"

The installers have no choice but to put that data on N:.

Hot one scook!

It sounds as though this might be a good temp fix for people with non-standard install locations... If I understand correctly, simply make directory junctions for all the necessary paths, then run the standard install?

Thanks... Though I don't need it myself, it's good to know "just in case"...

Okay, I just got an email from Cakewalk. The problem is that's how my programs referenced the SFZs. I was keeping the SFZs separate because I was moving the Expansion Pack between two different computers (at home/on the road) and kept the multisamples, SFZs, and programs separate to make it easier to do transfers. The SFZs should have been in a folder that also had the multisamples. As you pointed out, the way it is now does "work," but it's messy.

I told Cakewalk if they could provide me the locations for where things are supposed to be, I could create a new set of programs that reference the correct locations and that could be done as an update to tidy up the multisamples folders.

Thanks Craig...

As I was uncertain the displayed available download was correct (it doesn't mention LPG), I will wait for a clean up fix before grabbing it... I am anxious to hear what you created, but my downloads are too difficult right now...

So...

I'm getting ready to install the update though the control bar issue is a bit scary... ;-)

Can anyone tell me in installing the update requires a C3 handshake authorization (or offline authorize)?

I have previously downloaded the file manually, then placing it in the C3 folder, installed from there and alliwed C3 to auto authorize..., but getting the studio DAW Internet connected is not dependable and I don't know if I can switch to an offline install after the initial install done by C3...

My copy is bought for the year, so it shouldn't need to check for payment?

Thanks...

How come I don't see the Cambridge update in the Cakewalk command center? I paid for the year.. Everyone seems to have this update.
