The CCC is dumb. By that I mean that it only knows about the things it's installed. If it knows where your Sonar exe is I don't know how it's done that unless your Sonar is in the default location.

Thanks again"scook",I also have insane lag problems with platinum, but I just thought it was this sad 2011 dell XPS L502x which only cost $1,299 in AUD,now they ONLY[OZ dell website waay more restricted than US site] come with a horrible 5,400rpm drive and are starting price $2,499 AUD.

Lenovos W540 with a i7 4800qm is 3K + here [facepalm]and I could get one from the US for $1800 AUD including shipping AND customs!

I love the new'verb" in Platinum and the amazing possibilities but my CPU- sandy Bridge i7 2630qm is not handling it,apparently the new DUAL CORE i7 5600u["u" for low power!] through AAVIM technologies benchmarking using a DAW is beating a sandy bridge i7 2820qm,that's quite something on the mobile side.

FWIW, I'm running SPlat on a Q9300 (2.5 GHz) with 8GB RAM, a 1GB ATi graphics card and Windows 7 x64 Home Edition, and it works well, probably on-par with X3.   So if SPlat is performing slowly I'd wager it's something other than pure system specs.  I'm also using a Focusrite 18i6 that's been solid for multiple SONAR versions now.   Just thought I'd throw it out there.

Another little piece of info: using the CCC to install Platinum, first time, it went to C drive and drove me mad as in the OP.  However, I did successfully use it to update from Braintree to Cambridge, just as a test, and it correctly put the new version on my F drive and did not mess up any other paths.

So it may be better behaved as an updater than an installer....

That's totally cool,I just can't seem to find[like oh so many things in my turgid existence] a form of a "Delete" button like on Gear S.,hence the blatantly moronic message.

Some of us Oz people have a thick skin, and a dry-not so literal sense of humour, and waddya know you're from Ballarat, beautiful locale to make music in,I'm in Blandelaide[adelaide] but lucky enough atm to be in the hills,Adelaide has a fantastic rock band named"Tracer"but like 2 venues for Rawk[not modern metal,I hate that "cookie monster" vocal annoyance, and even Tracer guitarist plays a Baritone[custom made by an amazingly talented buddy-"Salvi's Fine Guitars"]but even though I tune to Eb,I think the Drop Cb stuff should be left to Tony[Iommi].

So after that ludicrous rant is there a DELETE button?[I just wanted to ask "Keni" how well his MacPro with SONAR is going,as it's something I'd like to do,get a 2010 12 core and run Sonar somehow?

Hi Bob...

It's ok... I always enjoy some good chuckles when romping around the Sonar forum... ;-)

As to Sonar on Mac? I'll be happy to talk about it if you start up a thread... I don't want to derail this one...

Ok guyz i isolated the lagg thing , it was due tio the comptaibility mod checked in Windows 8 position (on the exe properties) , i don't know why it was cheked ...

Back to the topic , the install

I redonne a clean install skipping the center

everything working great now , the weird thing is that the center is still not showing the uopadted sonar , but when i choose to launch via the center it launches sonar well and with the last version (so basically knows where the exe is ) even after manuals install

Questions : can't it just check the exe version and see that it's up to date ?

Hi Zo...

CCC will only register with programs installed using it... I've been opting to download directly from my account and then placing it into the CCC folder and installing from CCC... I'm ok with the default paths as they do not hinder performance at all here...

...and CCC can appear very misleading with updates. It displays what is installed but if there's an available update, the version number changes along with an download/install button...
