  • Track Icons not displaying properly in Sonar Platinum

Has anyone else seen a problem where track icons don't render properly on Sonar Platinum?  I'm currently seeing this on Cambridge, but saw this on the previous version.

Its almost as if the color palette or depth of the icon is getting messed up. I'm seeing this on, for example, the \Hardware\FX 1 icon (the Line 6 Pod icon).  The behavior  is not consistent. Sometimes the icon renders ok, sometimes not.  Sometimes I can reload the icon, then it appears to work, but then when I save and reload my project - it fails to display properly again.

Yes I had the same issue. I'd add an icon and all of a sudden, the bit depth would change and the icon becomes blurred and fuzzy.  I've only had Cambridge for a day so I can't say I saw it happen there yet.

I have sporadically seen this issue as well, also in X3.

When this feature was first added I never thought I'd use it, but it really does help find tracks once they start adding up. I did feel that it was somewhat cartoonish, and when they don't rez right even worse. Still, very functional.

I wonder too where we might find more icons? I've made a few of my own, but could use icons of things I don't have such as a steel guitar....

Same here in X3e. Sometimes I'll open a project & a few of them are blurred. Open another project using the same icons & they're fine. Re-load the blurred icons & they're back to normal until I open the project again.

Same problem here.  It seems like a "random problem" as it doesn't seem to manifest consistently.  I occasionally get icons that become highly pixelated and blurry.  It's not the same ones all the time......it's not project specific.  A little weird but definitely not a show stopper!

Yes, this has happened in previous versions but it seems very intermittent. I've only had it happen once or twice. One theory is that because there are two different icon sizes, sometimes the wrong one gets picked. I don't know where this sits in the list of bug fix priorities.

Same here. When they first showed up, I thought "Oh no, SONAR is turning into GarageBand" but it does help find tracks faster when you're scanning across channels in the console, especially when you also colorize related channels.

One unnoticed feature in SONAR 2015 is that I contributed a bunch of soft synth and guitar icons. The soft synth ones were intended to be more readable replacements for the existing ones, the guitar icons were derived from Gibson's library of artwork so they were easy to find. There are a lot of public domain image sources on the net, but you can also use copyrighted images if they're for your own non-commercial use. You'll likely need a paint program that can resize, like GIMP (open source and free, very much like Photoshop).

Hmmm...come to think of it, the icons I've made have never had the de-rezzing issue. But that could be due to the intermittent nature of the glitch.
