Thank you very much Mr. Anderton for your hard work on these patches. They sound great, but I have a big issue with the 12-string patches. Attempting to play them via a midi controller brings my computer grinding to a halt. I have redownloaded and reinstalled them, tried them on Platinum and X3, but still the same problem. The others all work fine though. No me comprendo!

Any ideas?

You're not the only one. I spent the whole evening a couple of night's ago slowly losing my mind with this very issue. Glad to hear it wasn't something I had been doing wrong, and that it's a known issue. Thought my computer was letting me down.

At least we both know our systems are fine Alex. And we have an idea of one of the fixes in next months' update.

One person reported needing to raise the buffer value with the 12 strings. I can't reproduce on my system (if I lower the buffer enough so the 12-strings don't work, other things don't work as well) so I can't investigate a fix. The only thing I can think of that may be a deviation from the norm is that the mapping for the 12-string is done within a single SFZ file as opposed to coding two different SFZ files for the main strings and octaves.

Frankly, I am not a fan of Dim Pro. Future expansion packs will be designed for Rapture as it seems like a much more stable platform. People did not have these problems with the Hardgroove Steinberger, which was done in Rapture.

This gets difficult...

For me I tend to think of DimPro more for virtual instruments and Rapture for synth stuff... I know they both cross boundaries mixing the qualities of both methodologies, but in general...

I am still uncomfortable remembering that the Hardgroove bass samples are in my Rapture synth... But I'm sure for as often as I'll actually use it, it's not a major issue for me...

The line has long been blurred between sample player and synth... But we develope habits...

I tried this following your post Craig, and it solves the problem for me. I took the buffer size up as high as it would go (2048 samples per buffer on my steam-powered 828 mk II) and your 12-strings worked fine, albeit with some latency as you would expect. As soon as I went back to 192 samples, which I normally use, the crashing problem reoccurred.

FWIW, the Steinberger patches have worked without issue for me too.

Hehehe.... me too, Keni.   For some reason it's hardwired into my brain: DimPro = Rompler and Rapture = Synth, even though I know it's not accurate.    But hey, if for whatever reason Rapture is a more stable platform I guess I'll get used to it!   Eventually.
