Every new node you add defines the
end of a new segment, and the transition type for a new segment always defaults to linear and has to be changed
after you define it. If you add a node between two existing nodes, as was probably the case here, the segment to the right retains the transition type you previously defined for the whole segment before your new node divided it. If the new node and the ending node are at different levels, you should now see a jump down to the ending node.
