I'm a newbee here so go easy on me A quick overview... My last undertaking of recording was with Sonar 6 which was a short but fruitful adventure and due to life's circumstances (abducted by aliens) I put my recording suitcase in the closet. Jumping ahead to March 2015.... I once again got the recording bug so I splurged for a new computer (Lenova i5-4460 1TB 8 GB etc), Saffire Pro 14 interface, and other goodies. Along with this I upgraded from Sonar 6 to Platinum.. a light year leap to say the least!!! So far while learning Platinum, which I find fascinating, I have really only encountered one large issue of utter frustration which leads me to this post. I have not started any "NEW" recordings but I have taken 3 unfinished songs from Sonar 6 and have totally reworked them in Platinum adding some new vocals, instruments, etc. My only issue is when I export these songs to my Media Player to burn to CD they have additional time at the end. For example one song is 5:04 minutes in length but now the MP3 file in Media Player is showing the same song at 14:07 minutes. This same phenomenon is happening with all three songs. When I burn the CD the songs really do have a long silence (for meditation?) at the ends and/or between. All the songs stop at the end and reset to the beginning properly during playback in Platinum. I have contacted Cakewalk support who suggested highlighting the Time Line Bar along with time markers at the beginning and end but that did not work. I also put the correct times in the Task Bar settings to no avail. I have spent the last 3 weeks laboring with these songs and now feel like I should have stayed with the aliens.  Any other suggestion(s) would be greatly appreciated, Thanks.

Are you using VBR encoding? If so, uncheck the option. This is a known issue with the current integrated mp3 encoder.

If you are not using VBR, the problem is likely due to data beyond the end of the project causing the export to be longer than expected. This usually is an automation node or midi event.

I want to add the Cambridge release of SONAR fixes the VBR problem and updates the encoder to the current version of LAME.
