Why? Since nothing will be fixed in X3e it would be bound to be contentious among non-upgraders. Makes sense to focus on the new Sonar platform for problems and bug fixes no?

Please read the last post of that thread. Hmmm how appropriate....the last post....

Cheers...

i did read the last post and was surprised that it was locked, as i would have just bumped it
it would be a shame to lose all the useful user-contributed info that prompted the "problem reports forum" especially when they all comply with the requirements (steps to reproduce, cwbr number)

How is that relevant to X3? Whether or not they are fixed in 2015 should be discussed in the latest, current problem reports thread, imo. Not like anyone is preventing anyone from posting saying "problem in x3 still not fixed in Platinum" etc. Not sure why that should be problematic. Can still reference the now closed X3e thread

they were outstanding pre-2015 so it's useful to know if they're fixed in 2015
whatever version name they give it, it's still an evolution of the immediately previous version

So discuss them in the relevant 2015 thread.

there is no "relevant 2015 thread" so the point is to persist these detailed reports, especially now there's a specific forum for it - they're not just magically fixed because it's a "new version"
i haven't "jumped aboard" yet so can't check myself, and therefore i'm interested to know
on a side note i'm genuinely surprised alex seems happy to just let it die

Yes but the fact is that the specific thread refers to X3e, and originated largely due to Alex's (cakeAlex, now Splat's) efforts. Continuing in that thread would, imo , create unnecessary confusion and animosity with respect to bug fixes in a former version. Given the bs that Splat put up with as an administrator (and all administrators are faced with to varying degrees), i am guessing he would not be as inclined to jump into the fray to restart his efforts for the new version. Just guessing, i don't know him, etc. Maybe some kind person would be gracious enough to lead that effort, but from the outside it looks like a thankless job that is bound to result in all kinds of criticism. In any case, the old thread, as i said previously, can still be linked to, so as users are reporting their new problrm reports they can reference the old thread.
